Children's Christian Education Classes
Children in grades preschool - 6th use the curriculum put out by Bretheren Press and Mennonite Publishing Network entitled Gather 'Round . It is a curriculum with the following goal: "Gather ’Round: Hearing and Sharing God’s Good News is a Bible-based curriculum nurturing children, youth, and adults in becoming followers of Jesus: people who know and love God, interpret God's word, belong to God's gathered community, and share God's good news." - Gather 'Round website All grades learn the same Bible lesson at their level each Sunday so they are able to discuss the lesson as a family at home. Parents are also provided with a tool called a TALKABOUT to aide family discussion. The topics studied this quarter are found below: Dec. 2 The Coming One Dec. 9 John the Baptist prepares the way Dec. 16 An angel visits Joseph Dec. 23 Jesus is born Dec. 30 A visit and escape Jan. 6 Jesus is baptised and tempted Jan. 13 Jesus calls disciples Jan. 20 Sermon on the Mount: Beatitudes Jan. 27 Sermon on the mount: Love Others Feb. 3 Spiritual practices Feb. 10 Commissioning of the twelve Feb. 17 Forgiving others Feb. 24 Caring for the least
